Back in August Jules and I took a fishing trip to Wishon Reservoir. On our way back home we stopped at McKinley Grove to check out the HUGE redwoods. We walked around and snapped some pictures but I haven't had a chance to look at them until today. Here's a few of my favorites . . . Oh, by the way, these were taken with a good ol' Canon Digital Rebel XT (as were all of the Europe pictures in the "Fine Art" section of this website). Keep in mind that a Digital Rebel XT is a 4-year old (that's grandpa status in DSLR years) 8 megapixel camera. You don't need the latest digital camera with an exorbitant pixel count to get quality photos! Invest in a good lens and learn how to shoot in manual mode. It's kinda like having a new car, you don't really need it, it loses a good portion of its value the instant that it's purchased and you know it's going to be outdated by next year; but if you can afford it, it sure is nice to have. Admittedly, I have purchased a new car, and a couple new cameras. Ok, I'll step off of my soapbox for now. Stay tuned . . . I think I just might publish a holiday guide to camera buying in the next week or two.
